Ruta Cuesta del Molino a Casita Blanca (Slope of the mill to Little white house route)

The Dehesa of Burguillos, a natural enclave of the municipality, is a Public Mountain located to the north, 5.5 km away. from the urban center, specifically between what is known as the Place Hill of Burguillos and the Valley of the Rumblar River.

Years ago, this old pasture used to be destined almost exclusively for livestock production (cattle and sheep), the closest forests used at the same time to graze it and make “picón”, which is a charcoal used in stoves or “braziers” during the cold winters in almost every town in the area.

For some time now, considering the needs of today’s society for leisure and recreation environments in nature, as well as the need to preserve these natural enclaves as ecological lungs for the cities, the Bailén City Council provided this enclave with maintenance, surveillance and equipment services (Barbecues, water fountains, signposted routes, visitor reception center, etc.), to encourage the use and enjoyment of the environment, in harmony with and respecting the environment, making this enclave one of the best preserved and cleanest in the Sierra Morena of Jaén.

There is also the possibility of taking various hiking routes, duly signposted throughout the area, thus allowing the possibility of getting to know the flora, fauna, ecosystems and spectacular landscapes full of contrast and beauty, which will allow us to enjoy it in all its splendor.

The routes range between 0.8 and 5.5 km., with medium-low difficulty, so anyone can enjoy them without the requirement of great physical preparation, although they can be linked and cover up to 20 km. of trails.
